Arthritis Walk®

Thank you for participating in the 2012 Arthritis Walk®!
The Arthritis Walk® is the signature fundraising event for the Arthritis Foundation. But it's not just an event, it's a celebration of year-round movement to help prevent and treat arthritis.

Every year we get together to celebrate movement and make a positive impact on the lives of people living with arthritis by raising funds for arthritis research, education and life improvement programs in communities across the country.

Our rallying cry, Let's Move Together® encourages people to get up and get moving. When you join us at the Arthritis Walk®, you're not moving alone-you are becoming part of a community looking to achieve better health and change lives at the same time. We hope to see you there!

Are you involved with the Arthritis Walk because of a child with arthritis? Then read on, because this may apply to you! Arthritis Walk teams within the Heartland Region that fundraise $1200 or more will receive free JA Conference registration for one family of four. That's right, raise $1200 or more at the Arthritis Walk, and the Arthritis Foundation will cover the registration fees of one family of four. If you have questions about this fundraising incentive, please contact your local AF staff Walk Manager or Chris Crowley at ccrowley@arthritis.org. Learn more about the JA Conference.

Following the walk – guests are encouraged to eat, drink, visit the health fair booths etc. Activities for the entire family including dogs.

NEW THIS YEAR – Wine and Beer Tasting
Early-bird pricing (before May 8th) is $25 per person, or $140 for a reserved table for four.
At the door $30 per person
First 200 people receive complimentary commemorative glass. To register click here.
Please note – this is a separate event, and donations made toward walk team or individual participant CAN NOT be used as entry fee into this event.

Last Minute Details
Bank Days next week at the Arthritis Foundation Office. This is the time to turn in any checks or cash received, and pick up your team or individual t-shirts (available to those who raise $100 or more). We will be here 8:30am – 4:30pm on Monday-Thursday, with extended hours on Tuesday only until 8:00 p.m. The office is located at 9433 Olive Boulevard, Suite 100 in Olivette MO. This is just 1 mile west of I-170 on the north side of Olive, at the corner of Olive and Magnet. The building is a buff color small dentist office – our office is located at the rear of the building, just off the lower parking lot. Registration for the walk will begin at 5:00pm on Friday. If you are registered on-line; and all of your donations have been turned in – YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO TO THE REGISTRATION LINE. If you have extra donations to turn in – or are bringing people to the walk who are not signed up on your team, you should check in at the registration table so that we can have your additional team members sign the waiver.

VIP PASSBOOK!!! Any participant who raises more than $500 will receive a coupon book:

Participants under age 21:
One premium dinner box (if you raise over $1,000 – you will receive two premium dinner boxes)
One “jump to the front of the line” for the balloon artist (if you raise over $1,000 – you will receive two jump to the front)
One bag of kettlecorn
One bag of cotton candy

Participants over age 21:
One premium dinner box (if you raise over $1,000 – you will receive two premium dinner boxes)
One free entry into the Wine and Beer Tasting (if you raise over $1,000 – you will receive entry for two)
One bag of kettlecorn
One bag of cotton candy

You’ll also be eligible for great attendance prices available only to VIP members! Check in at the VIP Tent to receive your coupon book. ALL DONATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 4:30PM ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 9th TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE VIP COUPON BOOK.

ACTIVITIES CONFIRMED:
  • Refreshments will include hot dogs, PBJ’s, chips and cookies, water, soda and juice. Cotton candy will be available for $1 and fresh-made kettlecorn available for $5
  • LeBrells Petting Zoo and a Kiddy Midway with games and prizes for the kids
  • Canine Cabana for our four-legged friends, with giveaways and treats and a dog agility/obedience demonstration
  • Demonstrations and instruction from United States Tennis Association representatives
  • Sponsor and health booths with free information and give-aways
  • One of St. Louis’ most sought-after balloon artists; and clowns to entertain everyone
